Base material 82 ± 2 % ceramic staple fibres 18 ± 2 % cellulose as carrier fibre core made from chromesteel wire Application limit with chromesteel wire: --> 1100°C Carrier Necessary for spinning the ceramic fibre, the carrier material decomposes at 200 C. When the material is heated up for the first time smoke development and a flaming up is noticeable. Loss on ignition approx. 18% Metal core Provides strength when the carrier material has decomposed. When used under stress, the carrier material determinesthe temperature limit. Base material isoTHERM ® 800 Roving Fibre diameter 9 - 14 µm no fibres passing to the lungs acc. to TRGS Application limit 700°C Short peaks up to 800°C Characteristic colour green Please note: When heated up, the material will lose its colour, this however does not influence the temperature resistance of the material! Base material E-glass filament Fibre diameter 6 µm no fibres passing to the lungs acc. to TRGS Application limit 850°C Short peaks up to 1000°C Chemical process Those components decreasing the melting point are dissolved out of the E-glass fibres by a controlled acid treatment, in return the temperature resistance has been drastically increased. Application limit 800°C Short peaks up to 900°C Chemical process In a special chemical process the fabrics are made more resistant to higher temperatures and will keep their textile behaviour longterm even in applications around the maximum temperature limit.
